DIGILUNG advancing digital respiratory care across Europe

As digital health innovation accelerates, DIGILUNG continues to lead the way in transforming respiratory care. The MoveUp AI platform now supports seven comprehensive care pathways — including COPD, fibrosis, asthma, and pulmonary rehabilitation — bringing integrated, data-driven solutions to patients and care teams across Europe.

Through advanced symptom tracking and patient-reported outcome monitoring (PROMs), DIGILUNG empowers patients to take control of their health. Intelligent algorithms identify early signs of clinical deterioration — especially during the vulnerable post-hospitalization period — using real-time data such as step counts and the “best 6 minutes” functional test. By automating data collection, the platform reduces clinicians’ workload while delivering actionable insights for better decision-making.

So far, over 200 patients have joined the pilot study, and DIGILUNG’s promising results were presented at ERS 2024 in Amsterdam by Prof. Julien Guiot and Julien Lebleu. Additionally, project partner MoveUP has obtained MDR certification for COPD, a major milestone in ensuring medical-grade reliability and safety.

DIGILUNG’s digital pathways also support medication side effect monitoring, physical activity coaching, patient education, and prevention of exacerbations through increased patient autonomy. The system even includes a novel unsupervised six-minute walking test to support patients on oxygen therapy.

Looking ahead, the team is preparing to launch a controlled study (T2.5) at CHU Liège, further validating the platform’s clinical and operational impact.

DIGILUNG represents the future of respiratory care — where data becomes the fourth pillar of healthcare, connecting patients, providers, and AI to improve outcomes, reduce exacerbations, and enhance quality of life for people living with chronic lung diseases.
