From Smart Textiles to Digital Health: How DIGILUNG Connected Expertise Across Technologies and Research
The DIGILUNG project has brought together ATRIDE and Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) through a shared interest in advancing wearable technologies and digital solutions for health monitoring.
During the collaboration, ATRIDE’s expertise in smart textile technologies was complemented by VUB’s research strengths in biomedical signal processing, artificial intelligence and data analysis. The project created a valuable opportunity for both teams to exchange knowledge, gain a deeper understanding of each other’s technologies and expertise, and identify areas where these capabilities could potentially be combined in future research and innovation activities.
“DIGILUNG has been a valuable opportunity to connect different areas of expertise and explore how smart textile technologies and biomedical data analysis can support future health monitoring solutions. The collaboration helped us better understand new possibilities and identify directions for further innovation,” said the project partners.
Although DIGILUNG has now officially concluded, ATRIDE and VUB remain open to exploring future opportunities for research and innovation collaboration, particularly at the intersection of wearable sensing, biomedical data analysis and artificial intelligence. The project highlights the importance of cross-disciplinary collaboration in digital health – bringing together technology, research and healthcare perspectives to create new opportunities for future solutions.
